Programs for Children

Jesus said, "Let the children come to me and don't hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14 NRSV
We welcome all children with love, encouraging them to ask questions and develop healthy curiosity about the world and their place in it. We also help children learn "what makes a family" and to respect the diversity of human life
We want children and their parents to know that this is a safe place for them to discover who they are in this world.. So, Trinity has adopted a Safe Sanctuary policy to ensure that each child's welfare is protected at all times while at Trinity.
We do all we can to keep a smile on a child's face, and an assurance that they are loved -- by God and by us. To do this, we
-- include children in a special time in worship,
-- have a paid-staff nursery for babies through age 5;
-- offer Sunday morning learning settings for children and youth
-- hold a unique and fun Vacation Bible School for 3 to 12 year olds each summer.
Our children learn early that as Christians we share our love with others by deeds as well as words. They make special gifts for our homebound throughout the year.
Our youth learn about serving as Christ served as they help with the Lord's Table Saturday feeding program during the year.
Confirmation class is offered annually for young people ready to make the decision becoming professing members of the church.
We believe and try to live by the following:
What a Child Learns
If a child lives with criticism, she learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule, she learns to be shy.
If a child lives with shame, he learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance, she learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement, he learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise, she learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.
If a child lives with security, she learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, she learns to find love in the world.
